This Just In: NYPD Cop Faces Felony Charges

Category: Bike BlogJohnny @ 9:25 am

According to the New York Daily News article yesterday, the NYPD police officer who cross-checked a cyclist during a critical mass bike ride this summer may face felony charges.

According to the article, “Officer Patrick Pogan, 23, whose cheap-shot tackle of cyclist Christopher Long was captured on a gotcha YouTube video, was also charged with a felony for filing a bogus police report.

Pleading not guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court, Pogan faces up to four years in prison if convicted.”

“Pogan, who has been suspended from the force without pay, refused to comment. He tried to sneak out of the courthouse to avoid photographers.”
